BCCI wrote, “India is fighting unitedly with Coronavirus. In such a situation, Mohammad Shami is coming forward and helping people. He has set up a camp on National Highway 24 in Uttar Pradesh. Where people returning home are distributing food and masks. We are all together in this battle.
In the video, Shami is seen distributing food, water and masks to people in buses. On BCCI’s tweet, he said, “Thank you, this is our duty”

Md Shami is from Amroha in Uttar Pradesh, playing for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy. They returned to their homes before the lockdown. Shami also practices bowling at his farmhouse behind the house. He has taken 180 wickets for India in 49 Tests, 144 in 77 ODIs and 12 wickets in 11 T20s.
